the vet called with the results of Sylvia’s blood work. she had a high white blood cell count, but apparently that is likely because of the tooth infection. what is more worrisome is that she has low albumin, a protein. there are several reasons this could be, like kidney problems, or a urinary tract infection, he says, so we can’t jump to conclusions.
the vet says to keep her on the antibiotics, monitor her eating, and check in in a week’s time.
i looked up albumin online. the first things that came up were related to cancer in humans. and then liver diseases.
at least she seems happy.
