Do Politicians Read? Seriously.

OK, i’ve been griping about this for it seems like ages. holding the cell phone is not what is dangerous. it’s the conversation.

so why do legislators keep trying to outlaw talking on cell phones without a hands-free device? they claim it’s for safety, but obviously, if they read a newspaper (or even the crap mail like i get randomly in my e-mail) they should know by now the safe thing would be outlawing ALL cell phone calls while driving.

i also like that in Maryland they feel the need to specify that texting while driving is a crime (actually, the law didn’t get passed, but it was up there).

how about this? how about the idea we already HAVE a law (or even plural, laws) against all those dangerous things. there are laws against reckless driving. so why do lawmakers feel the need to make a redundant law?
